Mike Nasco – CTO and CoFounder

“Career Entrepreneur" best describes Nasco's life work. From his first substantive venture as the founder of Cellular Communications Corporation (CCC) in 1984,  By FY1988, CCC had grown to a thriving concern with a run rate approaching $40 million annual sales.  From the inception of CCC, Mr. Nasco devoted resources to the creation of new products and applications of cellular technology. For example, cellular call boxes along roadsides can be seen along freeways in the US and Europe. In the early 1990s, after selling his remaining interest in CCC to GTE, he became fascinated with the prospect of using voice recognition to enhance the safety and ease of using cellular mobile telephones, and lead an effort that acquired Interstate Voice Products (IVP), a division of Figgie International.

After IVP was acquired by VoiceTronics, Inc., Mr. Nasco pursued a long-held interest in agriculture – primarily in olive and artichoke clones specifically adapted to the Southwestern Deserts of Arizona. In 2000, returning from a “semi-retirement” farming life, Mr. Nasco was asked to assist in the acquisition of an undersea fiber optics cable company’s assets and later in 2002 he decided to re-enter the “wireless world,” this time in the Broadband Data. During that year he created the Wireless Alliance, - a local non-profit group of merchants in Tempe, Arizona who all shared an interest in creating a “wireless city,” starting with a small core in the heavily-trafficked ASU- Downtown Tempe area.

In 2004, with the Presidential Debates being held at ASU, Mr. Nasco decided to “commercialize” the service by first providing an extended coverage area for reporters covering the Debate and then the entire Downtown Temp business community as wide-area mesh-network, which he termed as the Wireless Access Zone and “WAZ,” as it became known, was created. Later that year, WAZ-Tempe was formed to deploy the first, City-Wide Metropolitan Network in the US, covering the entire city of Tempe form boarder-to-boarder, some 40 square miles and worked full-time to realize the deployment of urban and rural “hybrid broadband networks” which include WiMax, WiFi, PowerLine Communications and now 4G/5G wireless networks.

He holds a B.B.A. degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami (Coral Gales, Florida) and an M.S. degree in Management and Information Systems from the University of Southern California (Los Angeles).

Jeffrey Hultman - CEO

Mr. Hultman is a veteran of the wireless industry having served as CEO of PacTel Cellular (now Verizon Wireless). During his tenure as CEO, revenues increased from $100 million to over $1 billion in three years. Mr.Hultman directed PacTel’s successful efforts to win the West Germany and United Kingdom PCS licenses over a dozen other applicants on the strength of a superior business plan and detailed technical system design for both countries. He partnered with Qualcomm, Inc. to trial a then new technology based on Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA).  The results of the trial were the first steps of CDMA as a protocol for the cellular industry and launched Qualcomm into the forefront of wireless innovation.  Mr. Hultman later became CEO of Dial Page, Inc., a wireless provider in the Southeastern US. He was among the leaders to work with Motorola to introduce iDEN technology as a two way cellular service. After taking Dial Page public and consolidating in 7 southeastern states, he negotiated the sale of the business to both MobileMedia Communications and Nextel Communications, Inc. (now Sprint) in two transactions collectively valued at over $1 billion. Prior to Mr. Hultman’s wireless experience, he was responsible for Pacific Bell’s (now AT&T) installation, maintenance, construction and engineering of all telephone facilities in Northern California with an annual budget of over $450 million and an organization of 9,000 employees.

Scott E. Hoganson - COO

Mr. Hoganson has over 28 years of experience in the wireless telecommunications industry.  His very successful career began in sales with six years at Motorola, where he was the company’s regional top salesperson, three straight years.  Recognizing the strong future of the new cellular industry, Mr. Hoganson was selected and accepted the first Sales/Distribution leader role in the newly created AT&T subsidiary, PacTel Cellular.  As General Manager of retail sales and distribution operations in California, Mr. Hoganson was responsible for the market start-ups in Los Angeles, San Diego and Sacramento MSAs.  Later he was selected as Vice President/General Manager for full operations in the San Diego MSA, building the market to over $40M in revenue with over 40% EBITDA.  After seven years growing the San Diego market, Mr. Hoganson accepted the role of COO of Analog operations with Dial Call in the Southeast.  Shortly thereafter, he assumed the position of Area President over the Midsouth with Dial Call in another full operations start-up  throughout the Carolinas, Virginia and Tennessee, building revenue to over $220M (eventually merging with Nextel Communications).  After five years as one of the top performing areas in Nextel, Mr. Hoganson was selected to Senior Vice President of National Sales Operations, responsible for over 4500 employees and $5B in revenue.  Thereafter, he was selected to start-up a new customer care group as Vice President of National Field Care, which was the primary contributor to Nextel winning the 2004 JD Powers award for customer satisfaction along with Nextel having the lowest customer churn in the industry.  During the Sprint-Nextel merger, Mr. Hoganson was selected as the Executive leader for the integration of the two companies’ Business Care operations, a national field organization of over 5000 employees.  Mr. Hoganson received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from California State University (Fullerton).
